Remembering the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A drum major for justice. Be mindful – we are all called to ‘do justice, to love kindness, to walk humbly with God.’

Here are four brief quotations from Dr. King – which one speaks most to you?

  • “Life’s most persistent question is ‘what are you doing for others’?”
  • “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.”
  • “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
  • “In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

A good friend is giving his spiritual journey story at his church today. Looking at your own spiritual journey story, what have you done for peace, justice and equality for all? What are you doing for others?

I realize that Reading Rainbow was a television show for children, but in a way, we are all children. Please watch.

“You must give birth to your images
They are the future waiting to be born
Fear not the strangeness you feel.
The future must enter you long before it happens
Just wait for the birth … for the hour of clarity.”
-Rainer Maria Rilke

With you in awakening to who we are in God and to who God is in us.
